First Communion gift ideas

My nephew is making his first communion next year and I would like to find something orginal for him as opposed to the usual gifts.... any idea's anyone??

I often give trees - mostly as new born or christening gifts - magnolia or something classic.
My friends love them, and the kids love the fact the tree grows with them

It's original, but not for everyone.
Bush is an alternative for a smaller garden, provided the family are staying put for a while.
If renting, a Bay in a pot is another option

What about finding out where he likes to go with his friends. Like maybe his local bowling alley or the local cinema for a treat. And he could arrange it as a special treat after his Communion. He will probably get loads of traditional gifts and money and this way he will have something to look forward to afterwards and will remember getting it from you.
